A Quote and a Poetic Fragment

Not forever on earth: only a little while here.

Although it be jade, it will be broken.

Although it be gold, it is crushed.

Although it be quetzel feather, it is torn asunder.

The poem above was by the Aztec poet-king Nezahualcoyotl, quoted by Robert H Gore in his book "The Gulf of Mexico".
