The Estate Sale Diaries-Jewelry

Here is a collection of estate sale jewelry that I have gathered over the years, most of it in Nashville. The bracelet came from a yard sale. How could anyone sell something so fine for a dollar? Was there no grandaughter or young niece in the picture?

It is the mystery of all these sales- what we buy and what we will sell to strangers.

I spent the day yesterday traveling to over 40 sales with a friend. I saw many treasures I thought i needed ,but came home empty handed.

What pretty pieces of art deco style jewelry!

Estate sales usually happen after the surviving family members have picked over what they wanted and everything else has to go. It's a little sad in a way, for as you said, Betsy, it seems that so many nice treasures are almost given away. Their loss, your gain!
